  My conversation with an elder

  well this happened to me a few weeks ago, but i chose to post it later because i'm paranoid.

  anyway, i was riding in field service with an elder and our conversation turned to apostasy.

  well, he turned it to apostasy because he usually dominates 99% of the conversations we have.but i digress, this is how our conversation went.

  Stilla I've been gaga over your new pic since last year!

  As to the 1975 thing...where do I begin? I always heard that there was a reference hinting at the date in the truth book. They say that the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making the world think he does not exist. The greatest insult to our intellegence the WTS ever pulled was getting the R&F to think that it was all of them that blew 1975 into more than it was.

  As I said the WTS hides behind the moniker we were just saying thats when man will have been on the earth for 6000 yrs. Thats like saying to a child, there may be some frosting left in the bowl after I ice the cake and being surprise to see him drooling in anticipation when your done.

  Not only did we not get any icing in 1975 we found the bowl washed and the whole cake gone period. The WTS said hey it was your own fault, we told you not to be speculating on when the end will come (let alone the fact that they have made a living doing it.) The real tradegy in all of this is THEY DID NOT LEARN THEIR FRIGGIN LESSON. You would think that after lying their way out of that fiasco they would never again hint at or speculate about any key dates again. but of course there was the 'rumor' about 2000 and the latest one about 2034 based on them comparing the 120yrs of noah building the ark and preaching to 1914 (12/15/03wt)

  ita funny last night i looked through some awakes from 1991 through 2001.and i saw a lot of refrences saying the un is the beast from revaltion there is also a article about the pope visiting the un.you should all read it its the 1996 awake7/8 funny thing is why would some one who is surporting the un say these things about them.ovesly some people ar cluthing at straws

  All of us who are ex-JW's have speculated on signs of the end. Now the key sign as shown in 2tim 3:1-5 (how do I remember these scripts) so all the problems in the world are proof that we are living in the time of the end. As long as things are messed up we are in the last days. But here is the WTBT$ big catch-all.

  If world conditions improve if the human stain manages to control their passions and temper. Thats when 1 Thes 5:3 kicks in. Yep peace and security. We told ya', any day now, they have peace proof the end is here. The perfect dichotomy.

  The trippy thing about leaving bethel is they dont tell you squat. Its like the shawshank redemption when they got paroled. your institutionalized and dont know how to deal with the real world.

  Of course once you get out most think 'okay let me get back to my roots' typically that means trying to pioneer in some way or at least get as many hours as you can. But, what you dont realize is the world has turned and changed since you went in. So of course the next mistake you make is trying to immerse your self in 'theocratic activities'. That doesn't cut it either because people have lives, you dont come out of prison and immediatly adjust to life outside. So then you try to build a spiritual life of your own (if your not already married.) Now when you are at bethel you are admired. But once you leave, no matter what the reason, JW's tend to look at you funny in one of two ways. First some, for whatever reason, look at you as week someone who couldn't cut the mustard. This could stem from jeolousy or a belief that if you left bethel you must not be as spiritual as some thought. I always found this attitude to be funny considering that JW's preach not to judge one another, but they judge you in every possible way one can be judged, usually based on their own personal criterior.

  Now the second way people look at ex-Bethelites is probably worse that the first. Some may look at you as this saint. I heard one brother say to one who had just gotten back from Bethel "you walked and sat with kings." They are put on this pedestal and expected to live up to incredibly unreachable expectations. Some are willing to put all they own and are into the care of an ex-Bethelite. The outcome of this of course is destined to failure because you have some one who hasn't delt with the reality of life, along with the fact that more-n-likely they have no current sense of self. Like I said you just leave Bethel with no where to go and no idea what to do. Now you have to deal with people in the congo that want to look at you as their congo sherpa.

  With all these Bethelites about to be released back into society you can expect major upheavals in the various local halls. If the ones ask to go are the mid and upper 'heavies' the ones who were biding their time till they can run and dictate organizational procedure, how kind do you think they will be to the simple publisher. They will leave with a vengence and grand purpose to 'whip their new congo into shape. The 'sheep' will be gathered and penned for their own well being.

  i now belive that religion is just one of the many forms of control that the powers that be (hereafter refered to as 'tha man') use to control people and keep them under foot.

  we know how the current administration uses the religious right to keep the electorate in line, but i also believe the wts serves tha man in the same way.

  I now belive that religion is just one of the many forms of control that the powers that be (hereafter refered to as 'tha man') use to control people and keep them under foot. We know how the current administration uses the religious right to keep the electorate in line, but I also believe the WTS serves tha man in the same way. They dont realize this of course, it is a very subtle coercion, yet effective.

  When you are tha man and you want to keep all the power to yourself, it helps when you can keep huge groups of people en-masse from Learning, Developing TRUE reasoning skills, and most important uninterested in political issues. The WTS does this by keeping people in darkness focusing on a never arriving new order.

  I believe some of the brightest, most ingenuose intellects have been ruined because of the WTS. Just the way tha man wants it, and by the time most wake up from the WTS dream induced stupor, most feel it is too late in their lifes to start over. I have read several peoples bio's and post. It seems most see the 'light' in their mid 30's, saddled with a mate and child rearing responsibilities. You look around and your prospects are bleek. You never truly prepared for your furture, at best you will have a career thats of middle class status, and you feel all the frustration's that go along with having been duped for a good 1/3 of your life.

  Meanwhile as your dealing with the pain of using your eyes for the first time in your life (to borrow from the matrix), Tha man has enjoyed the fact that a significant chunk of its people have been silent and clueless to real world events.

  mine was dan 7:2-14 my mother was always so proud beacause I got it out all by myself at the age of 9. Looking back should have takin that as a sign something was amiss, when a 9 yr old can decipher 'deep' prophecy like that.
